Iga Świątek is playing her first tournament in Montreal following her Wimbledon success. The Polish player added her sixth Grand Slam title, winning the legendary event on the London grass.

During the tournament in Canada, the Wimbledon champion has already overcome two obstacles. On Friday night, Polish time, Świątek defeated Eva Lys. The German had little to say against her much stronger opponent. Ultimately, the match ended in two identical sets, 6-2, 6-2. The Polish tennis player will now advance to the round of 16, where she will face Clara Tauson. Interestingly, the two women met during their recent Wimbledon matches.

The "OptaAce" account on platform X reported this incredible statistic. The victory over Nysa was Świątek's twelfth victory against a German opponent. As it turns out, the Polish player has a fantastic 12-0 record against the Germans. As you can see, when it comes to playing against German opponents, Świątek turns on "turbo mode," leaving no doubt for our western neighbors.

In her career so far, the Polish player has won a total of 23 championship titles on courts almost all over the world.

Świątek has won six Grand Slam titles, four at Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024), one at the US Open (2022), and one at Wimbledon (2025). She also won the prestigious WTA Finals (2023).

In addition, wins in WTA 1000 tournaments, respectively in: Rome (2021, 2022, 2024), Doha (2022 and 2024), Indian Wells (2022 and 2024), Miami (2022), Beijing (2023) and Madrid (2024).

The list also includes WTA 500 events: Adelaide (2021), Stuttgart (2022 and 2023), San Diego (2022), and the aforementioned Doha (2023). Plus, a Polish twist, the WTA 250 in Warsaw (2023).

Following the 2024 Olympic tournament in Paris, a bronze medal should be added to this list. This is the first medal in the history of Polish Olympics to be won from a tennis court competition.
