Kamil Majchrzak delights at Wimbledon! A lifetime success for a Pole

Kamil Majchrzak is the only Polish singles player at this year's Wimbledon. The Pole defends the honor among the men after Hubert Hurkacz withdrew from the main draw of the tournament in London due to an injury.
And it must be admitted that Majchrzak is doing surprisingly well. He has just achieved a lifetime success, entering the third round of the Grand Slam.
Wimbledon: Kamil Majchrzak advances! Pole's lifetime success in LondonIt is worth recalling that on Monday (i.e. June 30), the first day of the main competition on grass in London, Majchrzak caused a big surprise by beating the former finalist of the event. Matteo Berrettini lost to the Pole after a five-set battle , which Majchrzak definitely endured better.
One could wonder how the Pole would approach the opening, great opportunity in his second match at Wimbledon. In this part of the bracket there were several surprises, the biggest one being the elimination of number 3 – German Sasha Zwieriew. Majchrzak's opponent was Ethan Quinn (89th ATP). A dangerous American, with his own arguments, but also a player who is not among the top US tennis players at the moment.
As it turned out, these realities translated into the events of the second round match. Majchrzak, much more experienced – although lower in the ranking – played an almost exemplary game. Winning three sets in less than two hours does not happen very often in a match that seemed to have the potential for a much more even start. However, the Pole started with a 5:0 lead and although the further into the forest, the more the American had to say, it was Majchrzak who set the pace of the competition.
What was particularly impressive? The consistency in the Pole's game. Majchrzak won many long rallies, and was able to use the space of the court well, changing the tempo, adding a lot of technical moves. But most importantly, from the beginning he was the one who ran away, and did not have to chase the result. The second and third sets were much tighter in terms of results. The tennis player from Piotrków Trybunalski was able to endure even games lasting around 10 minutes (for example, 5:3 in the third set on his serve), losing his balance or having to defend break points. Well, the hands simply folded in applause when the Pole played.
Interestingly, in the third round, the Polish tennis player will meet another unseeded opponent in the tournament hierarchy. Majchrzak's (109th ATP) opponent in the game for the best sixteen at Wimbledon will be Chilean Cristian Garin (110th ATP) or Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (72nd ATP), the conqueror of the aforementioned Zwieriew. Both gentlemen will play their match on Wednesday evening.
