The referee decided to stop the match because of the darkness. However, it seems that he could have been a little more understanding and allowed the gentlemen to play another game. If Shelton had been broken, then the decision to stop the game could have been made and it would have been a little more justified. And in this way, both gentlemen will return to the court, perhaps just for a single game.

Importantly, the winner of the match will lose one full day, which he could use to rest before the start of the third round. For this reason, Ben Shelton's complaints seem completely understandable. They were also shared by the fans in the stands, who booed the referee's decision.
