Majchrzak's opponent is the American Ethan Quinn, ranked 89th in the world. The Pole — 109th on the ATP list — unexpectedly defeated the Italian Matteo Berrettini, seeded 32nd, in the first round.

Due to the unfavourable forecast, the organisers waited a long time to announce the schedule of games on the outdoor courts. The match between Majchrzak and Quinn was scheduled only as the fourth on court number 11.

Their appearance is unlikely, because rain in London is expected to start at dawn and continue with varying intensity until late afternoon. Even a slight drizzle makes playing on grass impossible, because the surface becomes slippery.

The stars who will play on the covered center court and number one court do not have to worry about the weather. Among others, the leader of the tennis ranking Aryna Sabalenka will face the Czech Marie Bouzkova, and the best Spaniard in the two previous editions, Carlos Alcaraz, will face the Briton Oliver Tarvet.
