The top club in the 2nd Ekstraliga is gearing up. The pre-contract has already been signed!
Krosno have a chance of promotion to the PGE Ekstraliga this season, as they will compete in the playoffs. However, the club's management is clearly taking their chances, as they are already building a roster for next season in the Metalkas 2 Ekstraliga. That's when the real assault on the elite will take place.
This year's team is expected to undergo a significant overhaul, with Jakub Jamróg, Dimitri Berge, and Mathias Pollestad set to leave Krosno. Chmiel will replace the former.
The Rybnik native, who was still racing in the National Speedway League in the 2024 season, is slowly building his reputation. This year, he was the most effective rider for H. Skrzydlewska Orła Łódź for a long time. He lost that title to Andreas Lyager, but he still ranks very high on the list of top riders in the Metalkas 2nd Ekstraliga, ranking 21st with an average of 1.81 points per race.
Jamróg hasn't found a new club yet (he has several offers). Berge will likely join Hunter PSŻ Poznań. Pollestad, meanwhile, is expected to return to Gezet Stal Gorzów after his loan spell, but Wolves are keen to continue his relationship with the top-flight club and loan out another of their players. 18-year-old Villads Nagle, who has been performing brilliantly for Proenergy Polonia Piła in the National Speedway League, is expected to move to Krosno.
Tobiasz Musielak is to stay! It's certain that Tobiasz Musielak, who has reportedly already accepted a new contract offer, will remain among the current leaders in the Podkarpacie region. Krosno officials are also likely to reach an agreement with Dane Kenneth Bjerre. It's very possible that Piotr Świercz will also be offered a new contract after reaching his junior age.
Besides Chmiel, another major transfer is in the works. In fact, it's likely already been made! There are many indications that the third-most effective player in the Metalkas 2nd Ekstraliga, Luke Becker, has also signed a pre-contract with the Krosno club.
The 26-year-old American started the 2025 season with a bang. He averaged 2.36 points per heat for Moonfin Malesa Ostrów Wielkopolski and quickly found himself on the radar of several PGE Ekstraliga clubs (including Krono-Plast Włókniarz Częstochowa). These clubs became suspicious when the rider suffered a serious back injury. That's when Wolves were expected to enter the fray.
