There is a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct for a national team player. He got carried away by emotions

There is a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct for a national team player. He got carried away by emotions

This means that the national team player will not be in the second match, on Friday in Sopot. Schenk had the right to appeal the decision of the deputy disciplinary judge of PLK Renata Kopczyk to the Appeal Committee of PZKosz.

"The player immediately sent an explanation to the appropriate disciplinary body of PZKosz., in which he expressed remorse and apologized for his behavior during the first 1/4 play-off match against King Szczecin. [...] We are deeply convinced that the penalty imposed on Jakub Schenk is adequate and will have an impact on cooling unnecessary negative emotions, and the next matches in our quarter-final will be held in a sporting atmosphere and with mutual respect for the opponent," the release reads.

In the first quarter of the match between the champion Trefl and the runner-up King, Schenk hit Aleksander Dziewa hard and deliberately in the back, causing him to fall to the court. The referees called an unsportsmanlike foul, but did not conduct a video review to issue a potential disqualification.

The match was extremely close, full of fights that were not always clean, and ended with a narrow victory for the hosts. The victory was decided by a 3-point shot by Nicholas Johnson, made 3 seconds before the final buzzer. The American scored 26 points, and Schenk was the second scorer with 21 points, while the other Trefl basketball players did not exceed 10 points.

Dziewa was the best in King's team with 24 points and six rebounds.
