Unexpected problems for the world's top ski jumper. Just before the World Championships!
— For two, three days I could hardly move — Stefan Kraft told Austrian journalists at a meeting. It turns out that after returning from Japan he developed back problems, which had already made themselves known in the past.
The jumper was bothered by pain in the sacro-lumbar region, but he indicated that everything was fine now. At the end of the week, he had two training sessions at Bergisel, which strengthened his conviction and gave him self-confidence.
However, other problems arose over the weekend.
Stefan Kraft was attacked by... a cat— On Saturday, during breakfast, we let the neighbor's cat into our house. I started playing with him, petting him. He liked it until he finally lost interest. Then he suddenly attacked and injured my hand — Kraft told reporters.
The trivial situation caused the athlete unnecessary trouble. He had to take a vaccine against diphtheria and tetanus, and he was also prescribed antibiotics. "Michael Hayboeck always said that someone or something had to irritate me to make me jump well," Kraft laughed.
Although the 31-year-old is not currently in his best form, he will certainly be a force to be reckoned with at the World Championships in Trondheim. He has 13 medals from these events, including five individual medals.
