Wilfredo Leon comes under fire just before the final. The former national team captain stood by him.

Amid the euphoria surrounding promotion, however, questions arose about Wilfredo Leon's form. Former national team captain Michał Kubiak addressed the matter in the Polsat Sport studio, defending the receiver. "Sometimes it's like you can't find a solution. I wouldn't be nervous or stressed about Wilfredo's situation. Sometimes it is. He can attack, as he's shown many times – it just takes time. He finished the most important ball, and that's what really matters," Kubiak said.

Wilfredo Leon under pressure ahead of final

Leon, considered one of the best volleyball players in the world, failed to fully showcase his skills in the semifinal against Brazil. Kubiak defended him, but his comments weren't limited solely to Leon's form. The former national team leader also harshly criticized the performance of his Brazilian opponents, who were defeated by the Poles in three sets. "I don't recall Brazil playing such dramatic volleyball. We practically played without Wilfredo and won 3-0 against them – and controlled the match. If Wilfredo had contributed, it wouldn't have been anything to watch," he added.

A 3-0 victory over such a distinguished opponent demonstrates the strength of Nikola Grbić's team. Even with one of their leaders out of form, the team managed to put in a dominant performance. The final match against Italy promises to be an incredibly exciting clash.

The Poland-Italy final will take place on Sunday at 1:00 PM Polish time. Nations League gold is at stake.
