“Operation Truth III”. Iran has begun retaliation against Israel

In a statement released by the Tasnim news agency, Iranian authorities said the attack was codenamed “Operation Truth III,” in reference to another Iranian attack on Israel in April and October last year.

Air raid sirens have sounded in Israel following an Iranian missile attack on the country.

The rumble of explosions could be heard in Jerusalem, and Israeli TV stations showed plumes of smoke rising in Tel Aviv after an apparent missile strike. But there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The military said dozens of missiles had been launched and ordered residents across the country to move into bomb shelters.

Israel launched violent strikes against the heart of Iran's nuclear and military structure on Friday night, swooping down warplanes and drones it had earlier flown into the country to strike key facilities and kill top generals and scientists - an operation it said was necessary before its adversary came any closer to building an atomic weapon.
