A scam that purports to help solve previous scams that never existed. Here's another scheme, and this time it involves the CMVM.

By phone call, WhatsApp message or email, those responsible for carrying out this attempted fraud present themselves as employees of the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) and offer to help recover amounts allegedly lost in previous frauds.

The recommendation is the same as always: don't take these contacts seriously, don't click on links, or download any type of attachments from messages.

“The CMVM never contacts investors via the WhatsApp application and CMVM contacts are exclusively made through senders with the domain '@cmvm.pt', these being the only legitimate addresses,” reads the statement released this Friday.

In case of doubt, the entity advises that those affected contact the Investor Support Line, on 800 205 339, or send an email to “[email protected]”.
