Academia Ponto Verde Roadshow teaches recycling on Algarve beaches and pools

This summer, Academia Ponto Verde is transforming municipal beaches and pools into spaces for fun and learning, where packaging recycling is the central theme, inviting children and young people to participate in fun activities to raise environmental awareness.
The Sociedade Ponto Verde roadshow is traveling across the country, from north to south, and will reach the Islands for the first time until August 1st, from Monday to Friday.
In this sense, Praia dos Salgados, in Albufeira, is the chosen location for the first stop in the Algarve, on Wednesday, July 17th, followed by the Alvor Sports Complex.
During the morning, children and young people will learn more about packaging recycling with this rodshow .
There are two interactive activities in which little ones can participate: a giant board game, where children will be the pawns themselves and are challenged to show what they know about packaging recycling; and Story Time, with a large book and colorful illustrations, which aims to stimulate children's creativity and imagination, reinforcing the importance of recycling this waste.
After reading the story, there is a practical activity with replicas of packaging to be deposited in the green, yellow and blue recycling bins.
The coastal and river beaches, and municipal swimming pools, thus become a privileged stage for Academia Ponto Verde to provide these activities to children who come with their families or are part of summer camps run by schools, local authorities or other entities, to enjoy their holiday mornings.
"This summer, we're returning to the beaches and pools of the Algarve with Academia Ponto Verde to continue raising awareness among children and young people about the importance of packaging recycling through educational and interactive experiences. Younger children are the influencers of the future, and being where they already are—whether at school during the school year or at the beach during vacation—is essential to promoting more sustainable behaviors from an early age. This year, we're taking a new and important step by bringing the initiative to the islands for the first time, with the goal of reaching a total of around four thousand children, encouraging them to be agents of change in their communities," says Ricardo Sacoto Lagoa, Director of Marketing, Awareness, and Communication at Sociedade Ponto Verde.
Remember that Academia Ponto Verde is Sociedade Ponto Verde's educational project dedicated to environmental literacy and promoting packaging recycling among young children throughout the year, providing children with a range of fun and learning activities.
Promoted by Sociedade Ponto Verde, this initiative has the institutional support of the Portuguese Environment Agency ( APA ), Directorate-General for Economic Activities ( DGAE ), Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action of the Government of the Azores and DRAM – Regional Directorate for the Environment and Sea of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
