Aljezur Volunteer Firefighters Reinforce Emergency Response with New Ambulance

This new equipment represents a significant reinforcement of the pre-hospital emergency system in the municipality of Aljezur and neighboring municipalities, especially at a time of year when demand for emergency services increases significantly.
This reinforcement gains even greater relevance with the entry into operation, as a result of a protocol signed with INEM , of a Seasonal Medical Emergency Post (PEMS) operating during the day, active until September 30th.
According to the corporation, the combination of these resources allows for a substantial improvement in the response capacity of the Aljezur Fire Department, ensuring greater readiness and effectiveness in providing assistance to the resident population and the thousands of visitors who visit the region during the summer.
The acquisition of this new ambulance was only possible thanks to the financial support of the municipality of Aljezur, which, recognizing, once again, the importance of the firefighters' mission, decided to provide support totaling 86,971.81 euros.
This investment reflects a joint commitment to improving local civil protection and strengthening pre-hospital care. With this new vehicle, the Aljezur Fire Department now has five emergency ambulances, operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, serving the community.
In its fiftieth anniversary year, the Aljezur Volunteer Firefighters' Humanitarian Association reaffirms its commitment to modernizing and strengthening its fleet of vehicles and equipment. This effort already includes the recent acquisition of personal protective equipment and, in the medium term, plans to acquire four new firefighting vehicles over the next three years.
A sustained investment resulting from a strategy shared with the municipality of Aljezur , aimed at the continuous improvement of the working conditions of the operatives and the quality of the service provided by the firefighters.
