At least 128 dead and 900 injured between Friday and Saturday in Israeli attacks on Iran

The assessment was made this Sunday by the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, who stressed that these are very provisional figures, given that rescue teams are still searching through the rubble, according to the Iranian press.

Of the approximately 900 injured people hospitalized, about 230 have already been discharged, the spokesman added.

The war between Israel and Iran, triggered in the early hours of June 13 by Israeli bombings that targeted Iranian military and nuclear facilities, killing military leaders, scientists and civilians.

The dead included at least 15 senior officers, Tehran confirmed, including the chief of the General Staff of the armed forces, General Mohamad Hossein Baqari, the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, and the head of the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

The Israeli strikes, carried out by 200 planes against around 100 targets, mainly hit Tehran (north) and hit the uranium enrichment plants of Fordo and Natanz (center), the national airport of Mehrabad and several military bases.

Iran retaliated with hundreds of missiles aimed at the cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, which killed at least 13 people and injured more than 200.
