CDS-PP praises AD's achievements in five Algarve municipalities

The CDS-PP Algarve states today, in a note sent to newsrooms, that voters in the region “showed demonstration of mobilization and voting spirit” in the legislative elections, which leads the party to accept the result with “gratitude” and “confidence in the future”.
Rodrigo Borges de Freitas, president of the district, highlights that the Democratic Alliance ( AD ) won and strengthened itself «in percentage, in votes and in mandates», which he considers a sign of confidence in a «coherent, moderate and people-oriented» project.
The leader believes that the political crisis that led to the dissolution of Parliament “was caused by those who lost their sense of State” and welcomes what he says was a “significant and transversal defeat for the left”.
Recognizing Chega's growth in the Algarve, he states that the CDS «understands the signs of frustration and anxiety» of voters, but reinforces that the AD's objective is now to work «with redoubled responsibility» and «not to stop».
The CDS claims the victory of the AD in the municipalities of Alcoutim, Faro, Monchique, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira, as well as the conquest of more than 7 thousand votes. It also highlights the maintenance of three deputies elected by the coalition with PSD in the region.
The district also lists what it considers to be the main priorities of the Algarve people: affordable housing, health, education, security, immigration with rules, combating human trafficking, economic diversification and an efficient public transport network.
In the note, the CDS-PP guarantees that it is “alive, attentive and prepared to continue serving the region” and promises to stay away from “sterile controversies or useless distractions”.
The note ends with thanks to the activists, friends, supporters and structures involved in the campaign, with special mention to Isilda Guerreiro, João Cabral and Alexandre Guedes Silva.
