Cineteatro Messias opens season with big names

With three sessions, two of which are almost sold out, already scheduled for September 5th and 6th, João Baião opens the Cineteatro Messias' end-of-year season with the show "Baião D'Oxigénio", an innovative production, full of music, humor and contagious energy in which the audience is invited to peek behind the scenes of artistic creation.

But music is the focus of the first two months of Cineteatro Messias' programming. On September 19, Ricardo Silva takes the stage, presenting the album "Contagem Crescente" with the Luso Philharmonic Association, honoring great Portuguese guitar composers.

O Gajo, João Morais' stage name, promises to surprise on September 20th with his fifth album, "Trovoada." While his music was previously primarily instrumental, now O Gajo also brings us the spoken word. The Campaniça guitar is the backbone of his music, but he also incorporates new dialogues—with two accordions, the adufe, the bagpipes, and the Galician tambourine.
