Elderly man dies after tractor accident

The man suffered serious injuries and ended up not surviving.

According to the commander of the Torre de Dona Chama fire department, Nuno Nogueira, when emergency services arrived at the scene, the man “was in cardiorespiratory arrest”, having been transported to the Mirandela hospital, where his death was confirmed.

According to the same source, the tractor overturned and the man was trapped underneath the vehicle.

The alert was given at 1:15 pm and 10 operatives were mobilized to the scene, supported by five vehicles, including the firefighters from Torre de Dona Chama, the SIV (Immediate Life Support) ambulance team from INEM, as well as the GNR, which is investigating the causes of the accident.
