Emergency EXIT. La Fura dels Baus with Satori and Eyesberg at Boom Festival 2025

"Since the 1980s, La Fura Dels Baus has been one of the most disruptive companies in the world of performing arts. Their shows have always been characterized by their rhythm, transgression, innovation, and eccentricity. The message is also powerful, with a strong impact on the audience, who often become part of the show. They have come to Portugal several times. This year, they will be performing at the Boom Festival ."
The organizers share this message with justified pride. This is the debut of the Idanha-a-Nova festival, which has received successive awards for its commitment to sustainability, a hallmark of its DNA ("Outstanding Greener Festival Award"), and which has projected the municipality worldwide. Kicking off on the 17th and running until July 24th, Boom will boast one of its most incredible lineups on this very first night. "The company joins forces with the EXIT Festival and the EXIT Foundation, the Boom Festival, Green Events, an organization that drives environmental and social change in the events industry, and EMC - Events, Marketing, Creative, from Croatia, which organizes the Sea Star Festival in Umag, a large-scale spectacle co-financed by the European Union," explains the organizers.
As Boom explains, "Emergency EXIT" is "a powerful immersive live experience that blends music, performance , visuals, and direct audience interaction, created in collaboration with artists Satori and Eyesberg." This communion of global artists joins forces to send "a powerful message" to tens of thousands of visitors: "Peace on Earth, Peace with the Earth." "It's not a concert, nor a theater. It's not a visual spectacle, nor a dance, nor an installation. It's something more. A new format that fuses them all—sound, movement, image, and pure human energy—to create a singular experience that isn't simply watched, but lived. This large-scale show breaks the barriers of genre and stage, drawing the audience into a space of tension and transformation. A world collapsing. A portal opening. A visceral journey through chaos, resistance, and the beauty of collective awakening."
It's promising. To be seen on the 17th at 10 p.m. in the Central Plaza area of Boom Festival , the performance is co-authored by composer Satori, along with the video artists of Eyesberg, who shape the visual segment of this immersive experience that aims to spark a different perspective on profound climate and environmental change, focusing on the future and preservation of the planet, giving art a leading role in raising awareness and calling for change.
Dedicated to active regeneration and care for the Earth, the creators of Boom believe it is their responsibility to "leave Nature in a healthier and more vibrant state" than they found it. With Boomland as their starting point, they combine ecological awareness with the festival's foundational principles, creating a green footprint that is the result of daily work since Boomland's debut in 2010. "We see Boom and Boomland as a unique opportunity to inspire change and support the regeneration of nature. By channeling the collective energy of thousands of Boomers , we aim to raise awareness and foster a deep connection with the Earth," explain the organizers.
This year's Boom Festival, held every two years at Herdade da Granja, is in its 15th year and will be attended by people from over 160 countries.
