Hapimag Resort Albufeira reopens in October with a new look

Hapimag , a leading provider of holiday apartments across Europe, is reopening its Albufeira resort with a new look.

After extensive renovation, the resort on the sunny Algarve coast will once again be available to members and guests for unique holiday experiences from October 11, 2025.

During the modernization, the Zug-based tourism company placed special emphasis on sustainable infrastructure, total comfort and a design that incorporates traditional elements of Portuguese culture and the colors of the Algarve.

The result is an exclusive retreat that combines the untouched beauty of nature with unique experiences and Hapimag's unforgettable service.

The approximately 11-hectare complex has a total of 213 apartments for up to 824 holiday guests.

Making guests feel completely at home and comfortable was the aim of the extensive renovation of all 213 holiday apartments at Hapimag Resort Albufeira .

Specifically, they were equipped with new bathrooms, new flooring, new box-spring beds and new furniture.

In addition, all apartments now have efficient air conditioning systems and new, modern, thermally insulated windows and doors.

The benefit for guests: they enjoy a perfect indoor climate and a relaxing stay on the Iberian Peninsula at any time of year. The apartment kitchens have also been fully renovated and are equipped with spacious dishwashers and microwaves.

A water filtration system provides fresh drinking water at all times and helps reduce plastic waste.

The modern look of the apartments complements the Swiss quality with authentic design: the rooms incorporate traditional elements of Portuguese culture and combine them with a modern style, without compromising Hapimag's proven standard.

The decor reflects the colors of the Algarve, is bright and maritime, with natural materials that reveal coastal glamour and modern elegance.

A highlight is the tableware specially selected for the resort: inspired by local culture and produced sustainably, it makes every meal a unique experience.

The main building with the reception area and all public areas of the resort have also been completely renovated.

The new wellness area is a special attraction. Spanning approximately 300 square meters, this sanctuary includes a spacious sauna, a relaxation area, and several treatment rooms focused on mindfulness and the healing power of nature.

The resort's other wellness and leisure facilities include a modern fitness center, several swimming pools and sunbathing areas, several sports courts for tennis, soccer, volleyball, and bocce, a library, a supermarket, and a restaurant with a bar area.

Additionally, unique experiences have been created to allow guests to explore the stunning surroundings, including several hiking routes and a variety of aquatic and underwater adventures.

For younger guests, a new "Kids Club" has been created in the main building, with a colorful new design.

Outside, there is also a separate children's pool, and by the end of the year, the spacious children's and adventure playground, with an area of ​​over 3,500 square meters, will also be completely renovated.

A key part of the renovation was the modernization and installation of sustainable infrastructure.

Albufeira averages over 300 days of sunshine per year. This promises sunny holidays even in winter and helps reduce the city's carbon footprint: with a newly installed photovoltaic system with a maximum output of 190 kWp, much of its electricity needs will be covered by solar energy in the future.

Heating technology has also been replaced.

In the future, gas will no longer be used for heating and the resort will now be powered by electric air conditioning systems that can cool or heat.

Other measures included the complete renovation of the technical facilities in the main building and the installation of a new, efficient water treatment system.

The first guests were welcomed to the Albufeira resort in April 1995. In the 30 years since its opening, the Algarve resort has become one of the most popular destinations in Hapimag's portfolio.

After extensive renovation, the complex now offers a modern interpretation of a typical coastal resort, without losing its local identity.

The proximity to pristine sandy beaches and Albufeira's old town, with its winding streets and warm hospitality, as well as the Mediterranean climate – with mild winters and hot but pleasant summers, thanks to the influence of the Atlantic – speak for themselves.
