The Corpus Christi holiday begins this Thursday (19) and should be stable weather with predominantly sunny weather in the Campinas region (SP) . And it is this weekend that winter begins.
❄️The new season will start at 11:42 pm this Friday (20) and will run until 3:19 pm on September 22.
☀️ Clear skies and high temperatures are expected throughout the holiday , with a minimum temperature of 14ºC during the early hours of the morning and maximums of 27º and 28ºC.
The information comes from the Center for Meteorological and Climate Research Applied to Agriculture (Cepagri), at Unicamp . There is no forecast of rain until the end of the week in the Campinas region.
According to Ana Ávila, a meteorologist at Cepagri, the arrival of winter this Friday (20) will bring above-average temperatures, which will be a good idea for those who are going to enjoy the holiday outdoors. However, the warning is for dry weather . Therefore, it is important to keep your body hydrated.
"In the afternoon, temperatures are quite pleasant, with favorable weather for those who will enjoy the holiday outdoors. However, it is good to remain alert regarding the dryness of the air, especially between noon and three in the afternoon, which is when we can have low humidity", explains the meteorologist.
The phenomenon that has caused temperatures to rise in recent days is called atmospheric blocking and occurs when a mass of dry air remains over a region, preventing the formation of clouds and the advance of cold fronts coming from the south.

Despite the warm afternoons, the thermal amplitude — the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures — is high , with cooler nights .
According to Ávila, drivers who will travel to mountainous areas , especially in the early hours of the day, should be aware of the formation of fog and mist.
For the coming winter days, the researcher states that the region should not experience major temperature changes. Cold weather is not expected throughout the day, only at night.
