José Diegas is an independent candidate for the Vila Pouca de Aguiar Chamber

After a troubled process within the PSD, where he was overlooked “without explanation” by the party’s national leadership, José Diegas decided to move forward with the Independent Movement to run for local government in the municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar.
The head of the list for the City Council reveals that he has "a project for the municipality, which serves the people and without subjugation to vested interests", and believes that this fact, perhaps, is "one of the reasons why my candidacy was not approved" by the PSD.
José Diegas adds that the Independent Movement's lists "will include citizens from Aguiar who want a new cycle of development for our municipality," revealing that he is confident "in the will of the people of Aguiar to give a new direction and a new form of governance."
This is the first time that there has been an independent candidacy for the Vila Pouca de Aguiar Municipal Council.
It should be noted that José Diegas was approved by the PSD Vila Pouca de Aguiar Council and the PSD Vila Real District Council as a candidate for the Vila Pouca de Aguiar City Council, with the PSD National Board opting for Ana Rita Ditas. In recent days, José Diegas and other members have challenged the "decision not to approve" his candidacy, and this week, he resigned from the Social Democratic council because he refuses to accept "secretarial coups."
