Alleged racist offenses are at stake.
Galatasaray announced on Monday that it will file a lawsuit against Fenerbahçe coach José Mourinho, considering that the Portuguese committed racist insults after the match between the two teams in the Turkish football league.
After the end of the match, which ended in a goalless draw, José Mourinho said he thanked Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic for his performance, considering that if a Turk had refereed the game "it would have been a disaster".
"Since the beginning of his career in Turkey, Fenerbahçe coach Jose Mourinho has persistently made derogatory remarks towards the Turkish people. Today, his speech escalated beyond merely immoral comments to inhumane rhetoric," Galatasaray said in a statement.
The Turkish league leader has formally declared its "intention to initiate legal proceedings over José Mourinho's racist comments", adding that it will also submit formal complaints to UEFA and FIFA.
"Furthermore, we will pay close attention to the stance adopted by Fenerbahçe -- an institution that professes to uphold 'exemplary moral values' -- in response to the reprehensible conduct displayed by its coach," it reads.
