Medical bulletin reveals that “oxygen therapy continues, although with reduced oxygen flow and percentage”.
Since the 16th, Pope Francis had not called the Argentine priest Gabriel Romanelli, who is responsible for the Sagrada Familia Parish in Gaza. He did so again eight days later, this Monday, after slight improvements were recorded.
The clinical information released on Monday evening on the state of health of Francis, who has been hospitalized for eleven days at the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital in Rome, indicated that there had been “a slight improvement” in the Pontiff’s health, highlighting the fact that, throughout the day, there had been no episodes of asthmatic respiratory crisis.
The medical report also notes that “some laboratory tests have improved” and that “monitoring of mild renal failure is not a cause for concern”. The doctors also clarify that “oxygen therapy continues, although with slightly reduced oxygen flow and percentage”.
But, alongside the good news, doctors remember that the Pope is still in a critical condition and that, due to the enormous complexity of his clinical condition, “prudence dictates that the prognosis remains reserved”.
The note released by the Vatican states that the Pope received the Eucharist in the morning and resumed his work activities in the afternoon. It was in the afternoon that he called the Parish of Gaza, expressing “his paternal closeness”. Furthermore, the Holy See states, “Francis thanked all the people of God who gathered to pray for his health in recent days”.

"SHAMEFUL"
The Pope recalled the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine, which was marked this Monday, calling it a “painful and shameful event for humanity”. He also remembered the victims in the Middle East, Myanmar and Sudan.
