Omoda 5 HEV and 7 PHEV arrive in Brazil; learn about the models.

Omoda & Jaecoo is launching two new products in the Brazilian market. With the arrival of the Omoda 5 and Omoda 7 models, the company is expanding its portfolio and focusing on competitive pricing.
On one hand, the Omoda 5 SHS-H is equipped with an engine that delivers a combined power output (electric and combustion) of 224 hp and 30.1 kgfm of torque. With this setup, the model reaches 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
Compared to the Jeep Compass and Corolla Cross , for example, the Omoda 5 has an advantage in terms of mechanics. The exception is the Blackhawk version of the Compass, which has 272 hp.
In terms of dimensions, the Chinese company's HEV hybrid is 4.44 meters long, 1.82 meters wide, and 1.58 meters high. The wheelbase is 2.62 meters.
Technologically, the model delivers a comprehensive exterior package, including folding and heated mirrors, full LED headlights, a standard electric sunroof, and more.
Inside, the Omoda 5 HEV features a 24.6-inch panoramic display that extends from the multimedia system to the instrument panel.
The front seats feature ventilation, heating, and electric adjustments. The induction charger has 50W of power and cooling.
In terms of safety, the Omoda 5 SHS-H features a high-strength steel structure, 7 airbags, ADAS with 14 items, and a 540º camera.
With a 51-liter fuel tank, the Omoda 5 can achieve a range of over 700 km on a single tank. In the city, the official average fuel consumption is 15.1 km/l. On the highway, the model achieves 13.2 km/l, always using gasoline.
Omoda 7 SHS-PWith an even larger size, more sophistication, and a better level of equipment, the Chinese company is also bringing the Omoda 7 PHEV to the Brazilian market.
Measuring 4.66 meters in length and 2.72 meters in width, the SUV is similar in size to a GWM Haval H6 HEV.
In terms of comfort, the Omoda 7 features a heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats. Ventilation is available for the front seats. For the passenger, there is a massage function and a relaxation feature.
The sound system has 12 speakers and 390 W of power. The central screen is 15.6 inches and the instrument panel is 8.8 inches.
In terms of safety, the Omoda 7 PHEV has 19 items to make up the driver assistance package, such as cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and more:
- Intelligent High Beam Control (IHC);
- Forward Collision Warning with Vehicle, Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection (FCW);
- Automatic emergency braking (AEB) system;
- Rear Collision Warning (RCW);
- Rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA);
- Active rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist (RCTB);
- Traffic congestion assistant (TJA);
- Lane Change Assist (LCA).
The Omoda 7 also has superior power to the HEV model. It boasts a combined power output of 279 hp and 37.2 kgfm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 8.4 seconds, according to official manufacturer data.
With an 18.4 kWh battery, the Omoda plug-in hybrid can travel 60 km in 100% electric mode.
