Sixth edition of the Chain Concerts brings DJ Sims + Cachapa and VU to Lagos

LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory , in Lagos, is preparing to host the sixth edition of the Chain Concerts, on Saturday, August 2, with DJ Sims + Cachapa and VU.

DJ Sims + Cachapa are a rap duo from Évora and national hip-hop, who have already released two original albums: «2ªGaveta» (2020) and «Detalhe» (2023).

His music is characterized by both boom-bap instrumentals and punchline rhymes, in a more oldschool style, and by instrumentals with BPMs closer to trap and more biographical and introspective rhymes.

VU is a rapper and hip-hop producer, active since 2016, but with roots in his original alter ego, Neuroze, created in 2000.

Born in Vila Nova de Santo André, he released the album «Déjà VU – Part 1.1» in 2023 through Ditto Music — a reissue of his debut EP, entirely composed and produced by him.

Throughout his career, he stood out as the winner of UBB'11, participated in posters with names such as Regula, Fuse (Dealema), Chullage and Landim KBA, and evolved artistically until he established himself as VU.

He produces in Ableton Live and Reason, recording and mastering in Cubase. 2023 marked the beginning of a new phase, dedicated to independent creation and the goal of building his own studio.

The doors of the Concertos em Cadeia are scheduled to open at 9:00 pm, with the concerts starting at 9:30 pm.

Entry costs 10 euros for the general public and 7.50 euros for LAC Members/Friends, including a drink (beer, juice or water).

For students, the cost is five euros (including juice or water), and for children up to 12 years old, entry is free.
