STJD punishes Bruno Henrique with 12-game suspension in case of manipulation

The auditors acquitted Bruno Henrique of Article 243, which deals with "deliberately acting in a manner detrimental to the team he is defending." If he were found guilty of this provision, he could have been suspended for up to 720 days.
"I do not see the first defendant's conduct as 'acting deliberately against his team.' Punishment is not appropriate," summarized the case's rapporteur, auditor Alcino Guedes.
But his and the others' view was different in relation to the second article in which BH was denounced, 243-A.
"The result of the match isn't just the final score, but everything that may result or result from it. Although receiving a yellow card isn't the specific intent to harm the team, it can influence the outcome of the championship. I understand that the conduct falls under Article 243-A, to influence the course of the match and the consequences it would have on the competition. I understand that there was a violation of sporting ethics. And this is limited to the conversations with his brother Wander. But his participation was fundamental, something that allowed Wander to be the organizer of the bets considered suspicious," added the case's rapporteur.
Alcino's vote was supported by auditors William Figueiredo, Carolina Ramos and the committee's president, Marcelo Rocha.
"The athlete has been in conversation since August 2023, pointing out, providing information about when it would be, and telling me to look it up on Google. This, to me, is unsportsmanlike," said William.
