Tavira Plaza hosts a photography exhibition celebrating the 55th anniversary of Algarve Tourism

As part of the celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the Algarve Tourism Region ( RTA ), Tavira Plaza , managed by Widerproperty, has been hosting, since July 14th, a traveling photography exhibition that aims to promote the collection of Asta and Luís de Almeida d'Eça , a couple of photographers who played a fundamental role in the construction of the region's tourist imagery.
The exhibition, which features 22 photographic panels depicting the Algarve between the 1960s and 1980s, is open to the public at Store 3.47, located on the 1st Floor. It offers a unique perspective on the region's identity, landscape and daily life at a time when tourism was taking its first steps towards international recognition.
The carefully reproduced photographs are part of an artistic and documentary collection of enormous value, which the RTA intends to showcase throughout the Algarve's municipalities, in an exhibition that celebrates the past with an eye to the future.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until August 31st.
"This initiative is part of Tavira Plaza's ongoing commitment to supporting, promoting and hosting cultural projects that value regional identity," says the shopping center.
"More than just a commercial space, Tavira Plaza is a community meeting place, open to sharing knowledge, traditions, and artistic expressions that are part of the Algarve's DNA. By hosting this exhibition, Tavira Plaza reinforces its role as a platform for promoting cultural and historical heritage, promoting access to culture and encouraging the involvement of local residents and visitors with the region's collective memory," he adds.
