Two people displaced after a house fire

Rui Lopes, commander of the Peso da Régua fire department, explained that when emergency services arrived at the scene, the house “was already engulfed in flames,” and the firefighters' concern was to control the fire and protect nearby homes.

The house became uninhabitable. The two displaced individuals are between 50 and 55 years old, and the situation is being assessed by Social Security and Municipal Civil Protection services.

The alert was given at around 4:30 am and eight firefighters and three fire trucks from Peso de Régua were mobilized to the scene.
