Two women arrested in Nazaré suspected of belonging to a network that robbed houses

The PSP arrested two women on Friday in Nazaré, Leiria district, suspected of belonging to an international association that was dedicated to robbing homes from north to south of the country, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command said today.

The two women, aged 22 and 32, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of burglary at a time when they were allegedly trying to leave the country. They were intercepted in Nazaré after an initial approach by agents from the Loures division, said the PSP Metropolitan Command (Cometlis), in a press release sent to the Lusa news agency.

After this first approach, the PSP was able to understand that the two women had already been referenced for crimes of burglary in residences since 2021, with the PSP Criminal Investigation Division being able to “make correlations with crimes that occurred in June 2025 in the parishes of Parque das Nações and Olivais”, in Lisbon, it clarified.

"Investigators were able to seize money and clothing referenced in CCTV systems of the homes targeted in the theft, among other evidence," added the Lisbon Police Department.

According to Cometlis, the two women are suspected of belonging to "an international criminal organization that engages in itinerant property crime, in particular, thefts from homes across the country."

After the first judicial interrogation, the two women were placed in preventive detention, he said.
