US, Ukraine reach deal on rare earth minerals

Washington and Kiev have reached an agreement on rare earth minerals, the Financial Times reported, which could result in a security guarantee from the US after the Americans dropped their demand to make $500 billion from exploiting the resources.

Ukrainian officials say Kiev is prepared to sign the deal, which envisages joint exploration of their mineral resources, including oil and gas, the FT says.
