Boliqueime Popular Festivals return in July with tradition and entertainment

Boliqueime Popular Festivals return in July with tradition and entertainment

Tradition dictates that the people of Boliqueime take to the streets at the beginning of July to celebrate their roots.

For three days, from 8pm on Friday and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday, Boliqueime becomes a stage for joy and socialising, with highlights including live music, local cuisine, traditional costumes and street entertainment that reflect the best of the parish's identity and culture.

The nights of July 4, 5 and 6 promise music for all tastes, with concerts by Nuno Florindo and João Paulo Cavaco on the first day, Ruben Filipe and Duo 64 on the second, and Emanuel & Tânia and Duo Rui & Miguel closing the program.

The entertainment extends to the streets of the parish, with street parades by Filipe Romão and Luís Parente, as well as moments of humor and interaction with the characters “Ti Gregoire and Ti Marquinhas”, figures already beloved by the population.

Local associations and groups play a central role, ensuring the operation of the taverns with traditional snacks, regional sweets and typical drinks, providing all visitors with a true experience of the region's flavors and traditions.

For Nelson Brazão, president of the Boliqueime Parish Council , “these festivities are the result of a joint effort by the entire community, which greatly contributes to maintaining the identity and culture of this parish, bringing together the people of Boliqueime, both in their roots and in their hearts”.

Entry is free.
