Children's Day in Silves is celebrated with the play «OZ – The Musical»

On Children's Day, June 1st, the Mascarenhas Gregório Theatre, in Silves, hosts the children's play «OZ – The Musical», by the company ADN de Palco .

Part of the Silves Municipal Theatre Cycle, the play «OZ-O MUSICAL» is a magical and enchanting show that aims to entertain and excite the whole family, an invitation to «(re)mind the audience that tornadoes pass and that happy endings happen».

The show is aimed at children aged three and over, with two sessions available, one at 10:30 am and another at 3:30 pm.

The Theatre Cycle, promoted by Silves City Council , runs until September and focuses on a high-quality, comprehensive and dynamic programme that aims to bring those passionate about this art to the theatre, but also to attract new audiences.

Tickets for the play «OZ – The Musical» are on sale on the BOL platform and cost four euros for those over 12 years old.

About the show:

«Oz – The Musical» is a children's musical that tells the story of Dorothy, a young girl who lives in Kansas with her aunt and uncle and her dog. Dorothy is carried away by a tornado that transports her house to a magical land beyond the rainbow, the Land of Oz.

In Oz, Dorothy is greeted by the Good Witch of the North who reveals that only the great and powerful Wizard of Oz can help her return home. After putting on the enchanting ruby ​​slippers, Dorothy travels along the yellow brick road towards the Emerald City.

In this unexpected adventure, Dorothy meets a Scarecrow who wants a brain to think, a Tin Man who wants a heart to feel and, finally, a Lion who wants to have the courage to face his fears.

They all long to reach the Emerald City where the great Oz lives, to whom they will ask for help to fulfill their wishes. As all wishes have a price to be fulfilled, the characters will have to defeat the evil Wicked Witch of the West.
