Ílhavo opens museum doors with diverse activities

On Saturday morning, at 11:00, there will be a special guided tour of the photography exhibition “Heritage in a network: one fish, one community, two countries”, by Eduardo Martins. The photographer discusses bluefin tuna fishing on the Algarve coast and its recovery after its extinction in 1972.

This Saturday, at 3:30 pm, the public will be able to watch the performance “Sonoridade Táctil”, created by the Núcleo de Criação e Investigação Artística SUSPENSÃO, which combines visual arts and music, exploring the potential of the body, gesture and voice, with the participation of Inês Moura, Lilian Walker and Rita Maria.

Also on the 17th, a certified training action will be held on “Ocean Literacy”, with the theme “Sustainable and Regenerative Blue Economy”, led by Álvaro Sardinha and aimed at educators and teachers.

For the European Night of Museums, the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo will be open from 9:30 pm to midnight, with free entry, and visitors can take free tours and take part in a night-time “peddy paper”.
