The Monument to Engª Duarte Pacheco, in Loulé, will be the stage, on July 30th, at 9 pm, of a tribute «to one of the greatest voices of all time in Portuguese music: Loulé native Nuno Guerreiro», who passed away last April.
"To celebrate his legacy and thank him for everything he gave us, the Municipality of Loulé — his hometown and place of residence — is organizing this free-entry initiative, an invitation to all who followed his career and appreciated his truly unique vocal ability," according to the municipality.
Friends, colleagues and artists who, with Nuno Guerreiro, shared dreams, stages and musical affinities will take the stage.
The cast includes Manuel Paulo and João Gil (Lover's Wing), Dani Silva, Dino D'Santiago, Hélder Moutinho, Luanda Cozetti, Miguel Moura, Nancy Vieira, Olavo Bilac (Saints & Sinners), The Bad Temper, Rita Red Shoes, Shout, Tozé Santos (Perfume) and Viviane (Between Quotes).
But also the musicians Mário Delgado (guitar), António Viegas (guitar), Zé Nabo (bass), Alexandre Frazão (drums), Rúben da Luz (trombone), Manuel Paulo (piano), Ricardo Parreira (Portuguese guitar), João Filipe (fado guitar) and Ciro Bertini (bass).
The tribute will also be attended by his longtime team — technicians, roadies , musicians — and his manager and longtime friend, Manuel Moura dos Santos.
“It will be an emotional and unforgettable celebration, worthy of the man and artist who gave so much to Portuguese music,” says the municipality.
On this unique night of tribute to Nuno Guerreiro, 35 artists will take the stage for a truly memorable moment.
"I had the privilege of following Nuno's artistic career for many years, witnessing not only his talent but also his sensitivity and humanity, both as an artist and as a person. This tribute is a tribute to his courage, his talent, and his constant search for beauty and authenticity. May his music continue to inspire generations and echo as a testament to a rare gift: the ability to move people through one's voice. Thank you, Nuno, for having existed," are the heartfelt words of Manuel Moura dos Santos.
"I will forever cherish the memory of a charming artist, passionate about Loulé and its people. A man with a unique voice, immortalized in songs that will forever be remembered by all of us. We miss you deeply, and this tribute is a small thank you for everything you mean to us," says Vítor Aleixo, Mayor of Loulé, with emotion.
Nuno Guerreiro, one of the most remarkable voices in Portuguese music over the last three decades, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 52.
His unmistakable voice, immortalized through the Ala dos Namorados (Lover's Wing), gave life to songs – many of them written by João Monge with Manuel Paulo and João Gil – that have marked generations, such as "Loucos de Lisboa", "Solta-se o Beijo", "A História do Zé Passarinho", "Caçador de Sóis", "Fim do Mundo" and "Siga a Marinha", songs that are part of Portugal's emotional and musical heritage.
