Loulé: «Lunário Perpétuo» brings together painting, photography and installation at the Alfaia space

Curated by João Reis, this exhibition of painting, photography and installation proposes a reflection on natural forces, cosmic cycles and enigmas that have always fascinated humanity. Inspired by the speculative spirit of the ancient lunar calendar – an almanac that predicted natural and human events – the artists, through their creations, convene a dialogue between science, intuition and imagination.

«Lunário Perpétuo» aims to present a group of artists who are in line with what this small book calls for – the seminal subjects of what humanity has always studied; and the human experience subjugated to what nature unconditionally gives us. In all these things, a hidden question: whether the «general and particular prognosis» of a lunário is not the same divination that is related to artistic creation, states João Reis.

With free entry, this exhibition will be on display at the Alfaia Space Gallery in Loulé until August 30th.
