Rádio Faneca welcomed 34 thousand people in Ílhavo and returns in 2026

The Rádio Faneca Festival took place last weekend, in the Historic Center of Ílhavo, with more than 60 free events over the three days, aimed at people of all ages, which registered the participation of approximately 34 thousand people.
In the 12th edition, 23 Milhas, a cultural project from the Municipality of Ílhavo that organizes the festival, proposed friendship as its theme, in a year in which it reflects on identity in its programming.
In this edition, the alleys were once again filled with people with Stories in the Alleys, created by Ana Bento, who was challenged to work based on the testimonies of immigrants living in Ílhavo and their stories of welcome by friends and neighbors in the Ílhavo community.
The Open House project, which has been running since its first edition, where residents of the Historic Center of Ílhavo offer strangers a place at their tables, sold out a week before the festival began. Tânia Dinis, the filmmaker who is supervising the artistic project, suggested that families, stores, associations and groups of friends who signed up work from their photographic archives and memories with friends.
Also in the alleys, on Travessa da Filarmónica Ilhavense and in the Drogaria garage Neighbors, the PRAIA meetings concerts took place, which challenged ten artists from the Ílhavo artists' registration platform to create together. This proposal resulted in three concerts and a documentary record.
In Jardim Henriqueta Maia, where traditional activities and games for the youngest were held, as well as a stand for personalized Friendship Bracelets, concerts and parties took place on the Jardim Stage and the Carlos Paião Stage, where Beatriz Pessoa, David Bruno, António Bandeiras, Benjamim, Jorge Palma and Beija Beija Soundsystem performed.
The Florentine Explorer walked through the alleys with schools and families and three events took place in partnership with the Parish Council of São Salvador: the Porta da Bagageira Market, the Garage Sale and the 45 Rotações e Imagem audiovisual market.
The radio broadcast, which lasted 30 hours and was broadcast on FM, online and also simultaneously with Antena 3, featured several interviews, programmes, moments with schools, around two hundred requested records and a conversation about friendship.
On the Radio Stage, Lisa Sereno, Valter Lobo and Tomás Wallenstein performed, a concert that closed the festival.
