Tradition is fulfilled in Vila Real de Santo António with a Festival in Honor of Saint Rita

The Festival in Honor of Santa Rita returns to the village that bears her name, in the parish of Vila Nova de Cacela, with the aim of honoring its patron saint with the traditional religious festival, between May 30th and June 1st.

The highlight of the event takes place on June 1st, starting at 6:00 pm, with the mass and the blessing of roses, in the chapel of Santa Rita, followed by the procession, accompanied by the Band of the Cultural Association of Vila Real de Santo António, at 7:00 pm.

On May 30th, the musical entertainment will be provided by Luís Godinho (8:30 pm) and Rita Fox Band (11:00 pm). On Saturday, May 31st, singer Tanya (10:00 pm) will perform her greatest national hits, after a performance by Duo Reflexo (9:00 pm).

On June 1st, Ângelo Correia (8:30 pm) and the Splash Dance School (9:30 pm) will take to the stage, closing the last night of the party.

In addition to the usual dances and musical shows, the program also includes sports activities, traditional games, street entertainment and entertainment for children.

Also worth mentioning is a new way to explore the village, embarking on a challenging adventure through Peddy Papper, on May 31st, at 4 pm.

On June 1st, the III Meeting of Antique Motorcycles is scheduled to start at 9:30 am, in an event organized with the support of the Group of Motorcycle Friends of Santa Rita.

The Festival in Honor of Saint Rita is co-organized by the Santa Rita Association «A Nossa Aldeia» , by the Municipal Council of Vila Real de Santo António , by the Parish Council of Vila Nova de Cacela and by the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption.
