Youth Square, in Anadia, hosts Folk Hips Special

After the captivating performance by the group “InCantus - Tocares e Cantares de Avelãs de Cima”, the cultural cycle “Às Sextas na Praça” continues to liven up the summer in Anadia with yet another unmissable proposal.
Tomorrow, at 10 pm, the stage at Praça da Juventude, in Anadia, will host the Special Folk Ancas, which brings together the Baroque Orchestra and the Dance Group of the Arturo Prat University (Chile) in a night dedicated to traditional music and dance.
Barroca - Orquestra Não Convencional da Bairrada is a community project by Promob - Community Promotion and Mobilization Association. Directed by Carlos Raposo, the orchestra is composed of musicians and non-musicians, creating an inclusive space for artistic expression. Its sound has been marked by tributes to the singer and composer Fausto Bordalo Dias, whose songs inspire rehearsals and performances with emotion, sharing and cultural awareness.
Coming straight from Iquique, Chile, the Arturo Prat University Folklore Group brings the liveliness of traditional Chilean music and dance to the city of Anadia. Founded on September 1, 1985, the group is part of the university’s Dirección General de Extensión Académica y Cultural (COFUNAP) and was born from the desire of young people to preserve and promote their country’s culture as a genuine expression of the South American people.
Promoted by the Anadia City Council, the “Às Sextas na Praça” (Fridays in the Square) series has been a successful way of boosting the city centre’s cultural appeal, offering the public free summer nights in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. The initiative focuses on musical diversity, encouraging social interaction and valuing public spaces as a stage for cultural expression.
This Friday, Praça da Juventude will once again become a meeting point for all those who enjoy culture, tradition and good music in the open air.
