Caixa releases salary bonus for those born in September and October

Around 3.8 million workers with a formal employment contract who earn up to two minimum wages and were born in the months of September or October can withdraw, starting this Tuesday 15th, the value of the salary bonus from the Social Integration Program (PIS) and the Public Servant Asset Formation Program (Pasep) in 2025 (base year 2023).
In total, Caixa Econômica Federal will release just over R$4.4 billion this month. Approved at the end of last year, the release schedule follows the worker's birth month. Payments began on February 17th and continue until August 15th. Workers can check their benefit status on the Digital Work Card app.
This year, R$30.7 billion will be available for withdrawal. According to the Deliberative Council of the Workers' Support Fund (Codefat), the 2025 salary bonus will be paid to 25.8 million workers nationwide. Of this total, approximately 22 million private sector workers will receive PIS, and 3.8 million public servants, state-owned company employees, and military personnel are eligible for Pasep.
PIS is paid by Caixa Econômica Federal; and Pasep, by Banco do Brasil (BB). As is traditional, payments will be divided into six batches, based on the month of birth. The next (and final) batch, for those born in November and December, will be released on August 15th. Withdrawals will begin on the batch release dates and end on December 29th, 2025. After this deadline, it will be necessary to await a special notice from the Ministry of Labor.
Who is entitledWorkers registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years and who have worked formally for at least 30 days in the base year considered for calculation, with an average monthly salary of up to two minimum wages, are entitled to the benefit. The employer must also provide accurate information in the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS).
The benefit amount is proportional to the employee's formal employment period in 2023. Each month worked is equivalent to a benefit of R$126.50, with periods of 15 days or more counting as a full month. Those who worked 12 months formally will receive the full minimum wage of R$1,518.
The salary bonus should not be confused with the quotas of the former PIS/Pasep Fund, which can be withdrawn through another platform launched in March of this year. The former fund houses quotas of approximately 10.5 million people who had formal employment before the 1988 Constitution. The salary bonus benefits workers with formal employment contracts after the 1988 Constitution, with resources from the Workers' Support Fund (FAT).
PaymentPrivate sector workers with a checking or savings account at Caixa will automatically receive credit from the bank, according to their month of birth.
Other beneficiaries will receive the funds through their digital social savings account, which can be accessed through the Caixa Tem app. If it is not possible to open a digital account, withdrawals can be made using the Citizen Card and password at self-service terminals, lottery outlets, Caixa Aqui, or branches, also according to the payment schedule staggered by birth month.
The Pasep bonus is paid via credit to the account of Banco do Brasil account holders or savings account holders. Workers who are not BB account holders can make the transfer via TED to their account through self-service terminals, the online portal, or at branch tellers, upon presentation of an official ID.
Those who are not Caixa or Banco do Brasil account holders and are entitled to the benefit can also withdraw the amount through the Gov.br Portal, in the Receive the salary bonus service, but it is necessary to have a silver or gold account.
Until 2020, the previous year's salary bonus was paid from July of the current year to June of the following year. In early 2021, Codefat heeded the recommendation of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and began depositing the funds only two years after the employee's employment with a formal contract.
