Facing a financial crisis and under new management, the Brazilian postal service (Correios) is replacing three of its six directors; see who they are.

BRASILIA - Amid a financial crisis and under new leadership, the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Postal Service ( Correios) made changes in three important director positions. This Wednesday, the 5th, Correios announced to its employees the arrival of three new directors who, according to the statement, "will continue the process of strengthening the company."
"All were chosen based on proven experience and alignment with the governance and transparency principles that guide the current administration," the company said.
The statement also noted that the new directors have "different backgrounds and extensive experience in public and private institutions." With this, the company maintained, "the new board composition represents the values that guide the company's new direction and the advancement of ongoing restructuring efforts."
The Brazilian postal service, Correios, recorded a loss of R$ 4.37 billion in the first two quarters of 2025, adding to losses that have occurred since 2022, but which were exacerbated under Lula's administration.
Now, the government is seeking a loan of R$ 20 billion from Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal, and private institutions to bail out the company . The operation must have guarantees from the federal government and be conditional on measures to improve the state-owned company's management.
What were the trades? The changes were made in three of the six directorates (excluding the president's): Governance and Strategy; Human Resources; and Operations.
As reported by Estadão/Broadcast in October, the directors of Human Resources, Getúlio Marques Ferreira , and of Governance and Strategy, Juliana Picoli Agatte , were on the list of likely dismissals. Both are linked to Lula's party and were part of PT (Workers' Party) administrations. In their place, Natália Telles da Motta, who was director of the National School of Public Administration (Enap), and Luiz Claudio Ligabue , until then an employee of Banco do Brasil, respectively, were appointed.
The Director of Operations, Sérgio Kennedy Soares Freitas , also left his post. He had been appointed by the Podemos party. His replacement is José Marco Gomes , who was the superintendent of the Post Office in São Paulo during the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The changes at the Post Office were made by the new president, Emmanoel Rondon, who took office in September of this year, following the resignation of Fabiano Silva dos Santos, amidst the crisis at the state-owned company. Silva is linked to Prerrogativas, a group of lawyers connected to the PT (Workers' Party). Rondon, on the other hand, is a career employee of Banco do Brasil.
In a press conference on the 15th, Rondon said that his mission is to adopt a technical management style in the company. "I am looking at resumes that go through technical evaluations, I am looking at the whole process in that sense," he said at the time.
When questioned about the dismissal of individuals appointed by centrist parties, the executive stated that there had been no discussions with him regarding party nominations for the company's structure. "What has been happening is that, when a vacancy arises, we look at the resume, the competence, and the track record to appoint the person the company needs to create this sustainability process."
