PSI closes the week in the 'green'. Jerónimo Martins leads the session

The Lisbon stock exchange closed the week recording gains, with a rise of 1.24% to 7,523.59 points.

All listed companies ended the day on the gains side, however the highlight was Jerónimo Martins, which rose 2.57% to 21.56 euros. Next came CTT, which rose 2.31% to 7.54 euros, and BCP increased 1.95% to 0.6592 euros. Galp added 1.62% to 15.70 euros and EDP Renováveis ​​advanced 1.43% to 9.90 euros.

The main European markets ended the day on the gains side, with the CAC40 rising 1.78% to 7,691.55 points and the Ibex35 gaining 1.05% to 13,965.92 points.

Millennium Investment Banking market analyst Ramiro Loureiro says that “ European stock markets ended in a very optimistic environment, given reports that the European Union and the US believe they can reach some kind of trade agreement before the July 9 deadline, which Washington has set for an agreement, without which it has promised to impose a 50% tariff on almost all EU products, which would lead the bloc to retaliate”.

“The automotive sector, one of the most targeted by the hypothetical import taxes, was quite enthusiastic, gaining more than 4% and leading the gains in the Stoxx 600”, he says.

In the oil market, Texas WTI fell 0.40%, setting the price per barrel at $64.99, and Brent lost 0.55% to $66.32. Natural gas rose 4.54% to $3.686.

In the foreign exchange market, the euro appreciated 0.27% against the dollar, settling at 1.1728 dollars.
