More than an artist, daughter of Gilberto Gil and a notable presence in Brazilian music and television , Preta was also, silently, a powerful ally of social causes. Among them, support for trans women in vulnerable situations. The person who revealed this gesture was the presenter and alternate councilor for São Paulo, Leo Áquila , in a video published this Monday (21), on social media. In the video, Leo shared the discreet and empathetic side of the singer, who, over the years, provided direct help to several trans girls who were victims of violence, all without any publicity or media exposure.

"She never let me tell her. Many trans girls suffered violence, were beaten... including a very famous one in Rio de Janeiro, who came asking for help because the boy broke all her teeth, beat her up, it was Preta Gil who helped: she rented an apartment, helped," said Leo, visibly emotional.
