Influencer Coracy Arantes, affectionately known as Cora , died this Wednesday, August 27th, at the age of 82. The confirmation was made by her grandson Gabriel , who also worked as her content producer, in an emotional post on Instagram.
"Today is a day I would never want to live. I, Gabriel, Cora's grandson and producer, come to share with great pain the passing of our star, Coracy Arantes ," he began.
Gabriel said that Cora began creating content on social media in 2019 as a way to overcome depression she'd been battling for over 40 years. "Since then, she's been through years of joy, love, and beautiful messages. And you were an essential part of that, making her feel more alive every day! Today she leaves us... but don't think she'd want to see you crying," he declared.
The grandson also stated that he will keep Cora's social media active. "I want to sincerely thank everyone who followed this journey. Cora's social media will remain active as a tribute and so that, whenever we miss her, we can come back here, remember her moments, have a good laugh, and fill our hearts with love with my grandmother's smile and charisma. Rest in peace, Grandma," Gabriel wrote.
Health complications and hospitalizationCoracy Arantes had been in the ICU since last week due to complications from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Last Saturday, August 23rd, she required intubation and experienced critical moments, including two cardiopulmonary arrests, from which she was successfully resuscitated.
On Tuesday, August 26th, the family published a bulletin detailing the influencer's delicate condition. During her hospitalization, doctors identified significant cerebral edema and began gradually withdrawing the artificial means of survival, closely monitoring her body's response.
Coracy Arantes leaves a legacy of overcoming, joy, and inspiration for her followers, being remembered for the charisma and courage with which she faced her personal battles.
