Preta Gil's ex-husband posts tribute to the singer: 'I love you forever'
Summary Rafael Dragaud, filmmaker and ex-husband of Preta Gil, paid an emotional tribute to the singer, who passed away on July 20 after a long battle with cancer, highlighting her light, wisdom and the bond of friendship they maintained.
Filmmaker Rafael Dragaud, Preta Gil's ex-husband , posted a tribute to the singer, who passed away this Sunday, the 20th, after more than two years battling cancer. The two were married for eight years in the early 2000s.
Dragaud wrote: "Pure sadness. Pure. Strange and simple. Deep down we always think that life can surprise us, and even against all odds, I felt a glimmer of hope: what if the treatment works, right? It would be so good! But... it didn't... it wasn't meant to be."
"Mysteries, destiny. Happy moments pass here in my heart, a beautiful woman, full of light, who illuminated my life, filled me with joy and passed on to me through gentle gestures, and laughter of empathy and complicity a very rare type of wisdom that I always needed and didn't know the way: to take life lightly," he continued.
"You were a happy wind that blew on my face. Unforgettable. One of the things we only thank God for. And in the midst of sadness, we discover happiness. Go with God, my love. I love you forever," added Rafael Dragaud.
Along with the text, he published several photos with Preta, both old and new, showing that the two maintained a strong friendship despite no longer having a romantic relationship. Dragaud even appears in photos with the singer while she was in the hospital, during her extensive treatment.
