A light collision with two motorcycles leaves one dead in Tavira

A collision between a light vehicle and two motorbikes in Tavira left one person dead and one seriously injured, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) told Lusa today.
A spokesperson for ANEPC's Algarve Sub-regional Command said the collision occurred on National Road 125 (EN125), in the Pedras de El-Rei area, in Santa Luzia in the municipality of Tavira.
According to ANEPC's website, the alert was given at 1:50 am and 17 operators and six emergency vehicles were dispatched to the site.
The spokesman said the fatal victim and the injured man were taken to Faro Hospital, where their deaths were confirmed.
The collision forced traffic to be closed on the EN125 between 2:00 and 5:33, the same source added.
