Moscow drone attack leads to airport closures

Over the past six months, a Russian military court has sentenced 184 Ukrainian prisoners of war captured in Kursk, according to independent Russian media outlet Mediazona .
The Ukrainian soldiers detained in this Russian region had been accused of committing terrorist acts by a group of people with serious consequences. The Ukrainian armed forces launched their offensive on Kursk in August 2024.
Moscow was the target of a drone attack last night that temporarily closed two airports. The mayor of the Russian capital said two drones were shot down, in an attack that has not yet been claimed by Ukraine.
Moscow's emergency services are at the scene of the downed drones, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. It is unclear whether Moscow was hit by other drones. Several Moscow residents reported hearing explosions in the city, according to local media .
Restrictions were imposed at Kaluga and Vnukovo airports during the attack, according to Artyom Korenyako, a spokesman for Russia's state aviation agency Rosaviatsia. The restrictions on air traffic have since been lifted.
