In a thrilling and tense Clássico-Rei (Ceará vs. Fortaleza derby), Ceará and Fortaleza drew 1-1 on Thursday night (November 6th) at Arena Castelão, for the 32nd round of the Brasileirão (Brazilian Championship). Adam Bareiro opened the scoring for Leão (Fortaleza) in the first half, but Pedro Raul, in the 44th minute of the second half, rose higher than everyone else to secure the draw for Vozão (Ceará).

With this result, Ceará reaches 39 points and maintains a comfortable position in the middle of the table, now in 13th place. Fortaleza, on the other hand, regrets conceding the draw at the end. Leão (Fortaleza) reaches 29 points, but remains stuck in the relegation zone, in 18th position, and sees the gap to escape the bottom four widen.

The first half at Castelão was a Clássico-Rei (King's Classic) of much perspiration and little inspiration, as expected. Ceará tried to control the game with Vina and Pedro Raul, but were stopped by the strong Fortaleza defense. The game became very congested in midfield, with few clear chances. The main controversy occurred in the 11th minute, when the game was stopped by a whistle from the stands, which disrupted a Fortaleza counter-attack.

When the match seemed destined for a goalless draw at halftime, Leão (Fortaleza) became more assertive. In the 36th minute, from a short corner kick, Breno Lopes delivered a precise cross to Adam Bareiro's head. The striker rose firmly and headed the ball into the back of the net, opening the scoring. Ceará still tried to apply pressure at the end, but Fortaleza's defense held firm.

Ceará returned for the second half desperately seeking an equalizer. However, it was Fortaleza who almost extended their lead. In the 20th minute, Ceará's goalkeeper, Bruno Ferreira, performed a double miracle: first, he saved a point-blank shot from Herrera with his feet; on the immediate rebound, he caught Breno Lopes' shot. From then on, Fortaleza completely closed ranks, while Ceará went on the attack.

After much persistence, Vozão's pressure paid off. In the final stretch, at the 44th minute, Marcos Victor delivered a beautiful cross from the right. Center forward Pedro Raul rose higher than the Tricolor defense and headed the ball with skill, catching goalkeeper Brenno off guard, to tie the game. The goal was confirmed by VAR, igniting the final minutes of the derby, which ended with the score tied.
