Palmeiras faced Inter Miami this Monday, in the last round of the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup. At the HardRock Stadium in Miami, the Alviverde team was losing 2-0 but managed to equalize at the end of the second half, with goals from Paulinho and Maurício, guaranteeing qualification in first place in group A.
FIRST HALF
The first chance to score was for Alviverde and came from a header by Gustavo Gómez four minutes into the game, but Inter's goalkeeper Ustari made the save.
In the first chance the American team had, Lucas Evangelista stopped Messi from shooting before the 10th minute. Five minutes later, at 15, Inter Miami scored on a counterattack by the American team. Suárez set up the Argentine Allende to score the first goal of the match and open the scoring.
In addition to the loss on the scoreboard, the play ended in a muscle injury for defender Murilo, who felt it while marking Allende in the play.
At 30, Estêvão dribbled past the defense in a dangerous move; but he risked the shot when he entered the area and kicked over the goal. A minute later, Facundo Torres' shot went very close to the post after the American team's poor clearance.
At 39, after another mistake by Inter's defense, Piquerez risked a shot, which went wide.

SECOND HALF
Three minutes into the second half, Messi cleared the Palmeiras defense and had space to shoot, which was saved by Weverton. Six minutes in, Allende had another chance, got past the Palmeiras defense and, under pressure from goalkeeper Weverton, shot wide.
At 12 minutes, Messi had another chance to finish, and his shot went close to the goalkeeper's post. At 20 minutes, Suárez got away from two defenders and scored Inter's second goal, leaving the Palmeiras defense behind.
At 34 minutes, Paulinho, who came on in the second half, controlled the ball in the area and scored the first goal for Alviverde. This was his second goal wearing the Palmeiras shirt.
In the 39th minute, Inter's goalkeeper had to defend Maurício's shot from another Palmeiras attempt. The number 18 persisted and arrived again in the 42nd minute and, with a strong shot, scored the second goal for Alviverde at the end of the second half.
In the last play of the match, goalkeeper Ustaci made two good saves on shots from Maurício and Vitor Roque, and prevented the Alviverde from coming back before the final whistle, which marked a 2-2 draw between the teams.
With the combination of results, Palmeiras qualified in first place in group A and will face Botafogo next Saturday (28) at 1 pm. This will be the second clash between Brazilian teams in the history of the knockout stage of the Club World Cup.
