Portugal wins 20 medals at the IAADS European Championships

Portugal concluded today with the conquest of 20 medals its participation in the European Championships for athletes with Down syndrome (IAADS), with athletics and table tennis events, which took place in Prague.
In total, Portuguese athletes won 10 gold medals, two silver medals and eight bronze medals.
Special mention goes to Isabela Santos, runner-up in the 800 meters, with a European record. The Portuguese athlete ran in 3:22.60 minutes and was only beaten by the Mexican Eloisa Alejandra Davila Mosqueda, who won with a new world record of 3:07.91.
Table tennis players João Soldado Gonçalves, João Oliveira, João Miguel Gonçalves and Pedro Azevedo and athletes João Machado, Beatriz Bastos, Maria Vicente, Bruno Leitão and Luís Gonçalves also returned from Prague with medals. Vasco Avelino and Nelson Silva were also part of the Portuguese team.
