Vampeta approves Botafogo's new coach

The arrival of Davide Ancelotti as Botafogo 's coach is already causing a stir in the Brazilian football scene. At 35 years old, the son of Carlo Ancelotti, current coach of the Brazilian National Team, has signed a contract with the Rio de Janeiro club to take on his first experience as a head coach. As such, the black and white SAF is betting on a young name, with extensive experience alongside his father at clubs such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli.

The former midfielder and five-time world champion Vampeta came out in defense of the choice, and gave his opinion on the Jovem Pan Esportes program: "He'll have an opportunity now. He's been working with his father for many years, training several stars, and that's already worth the bet, even without having worked as a coach."

Furthermore, Vampeta highlighted that Davide's presence in Rio could be beneficial for his adaptation, since his father also lives in the city because of the National Team. Therefore, the family environment could positively influence the new commander's routine.

Textor management and the controversy over foreign coaches

It is worth noting that the hiring reflects the direct style of John Textor, owner of Botafogo's SAF, who, according to Vampeta, does not hide his preference for foreign coaches. "Now it is a SAF, where Textor seems to me to not like Brazilian coaches leading his club. The press, fans, whoever wants to complain can come and complain, because he is the owner," he added.

That's why Davide Ancelotti arrives with the endorsement of the owner himself, who recently fired Renato Paiva. This is because in a private structure, decisions are centralized and often controversial.
