Welcome: Botafogo signs new coach, Davide Ancelotti

Auxiliary member of his father's technical committees, Carlo Ancelotti's son is the new coach of Glorioso.

With Renato Paiva's dismissal last Monday (30/06) after the clash with Palmeiras in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup, John Textor bet on negotiating Davide.

Despite not yet having his first experience as head coach of a team, the Italian, who is only 35 years old, has had successful spells in the job, such as with the teams Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and, currently, the Brazilian national team.

As a former Milan midfielder, Davide did not have many standout performances. However, his degree in Sports Science and the issuance of a UEFA A license were important factors in determining Davide's choice as a coach.

In a recent interview (30/06) with the Spanish newspaper "Marca", Ancelloti Jr. confessed that he is a fan of a more vertical and daring football , an interesting proposal for Botafogo 's style of play.

Davide has not yet taken charge of Botafogo in the match against Vasco, but is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro later this week.
